This possible NH sighting was at Greens Mountain off Cat Hole Road on the Claremont-Newport town line.
Our reporter was going hiking and had parked at the large opening on left past the upper log landing before the power lines on Cat Hole Rd. You cannot drive here without a 4×4…
He was in the woods for what felt like 30-45 minutes when he heard leaves rustling. His first thought was it was a bear and when he started turning to figure out where the noise was coming from he noticed movement from the corner of his eye. He had his phone out thinking he would try to get a good picture of a bear but instead, saw something different leaning out from next to a tree.
He snapped a few shots and tried to turn on video but didn’t have time to do that because by the time he looked back up, it was gone.
He became fearful and started to run, but he was so flustered it took him almost an hour to find his truck. He will be going back to try to figure out where he snapped these shots and to look for more evidence!
