A writer sends us this experience from Moultonborough, NH and included some maps of the area. The Town of Moultonborough is located in the mid-portion of New Hampshire’s Lakes Region in Carroll County. There are 28 miles of hiking trails maintained by the Lakes Region Conservation Trust that are part of the Castle in the Clouds experience (Castle in the Clouds is in the pink area).
The first picture is my first experience, maybe 10 years ago. It’s a heavily wooded area and that’s where I heard branches snapping! (Faraway Mt Trail)
The second picture is where I actually had a melon-sized rock thrown in my direction from behind. It actually came from down below, and up and over my right shoulder, from behind. I can’t even explain that smell!
